- Personalized individual reports and explainer videos for participants
- A collective Board Dynamics Report and Transaction Cycle visualization for the Board Chair and CEO
- A facilitator-led leadership debrief session
- Optional in-person full-board sessions as a paid add-on
BIS is an informational and developmental tool. It is not a clinical diagnostic instrument, and the results are not intended to be used for employment decisions, psychological diagnosis, or any purpose outside voluntary organizational development.
3. Eligibility and account creation
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to enter into this agreement on behalf of your organization. When you create an account or purchase access, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Purchase, pricing, and payment

5. Refunds and seat use
Our refund and seat-use policy, including provisions for seat substitution and deferred use within the same board year, is described in detail in our Refund & Seat Use Policy. That policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
6. Acceptable use
When you use BIS, you agree not to:
- Complete an assessment on behalf of another person or misrepresent your identity
- Share assessment links, reports, or results with anyone outside your organization without permission
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or recreate the assessment, reports, or framework
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or infringes on the rights of others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other organizations’ data or our systems
7. Intellectual property
The BIS website, assessment framework, reports, visualizations, written content, and software are the intellectual property of Museum Crafters LLC, except where otherwise noted.
The underlying Big Five personality framework draws on public-domain psychometric science, including items from the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP-NEO). The proprietary Board Transaction Cycle and Leadership Signature fusion logic were developed in collaboration with Dr. George Watts and Laurie Blazek, authors of Becoming a Strategic Leader: Capitalize on the Power of Your Personality, whose work is cited throughout.
Your individual assessment results, and the written reports generated for you, are your personal property. You may share your own results freely. You may not reproduce or redistribute the underlying assessment framework, the BIS reporting materials, or the Transaction Cycle model for commercial or competitive purposes.
8. Confidentiality of results
Individual assessment results are visible only to the participant and, in aggregated form, to the designated Board Chair and CEO of the purchasing organization. No other board member, staff member, or external party sees another individual’s results. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
9. Service availability
We work hard to keep BIS available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to take the service offline occasionally for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We are not liable for any losses arising from temporary unavailability.
10. Disclaimers
BIS is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Personality assessment is a developmental tool, not a predictive science of individual behavior. BIS results are intended to prompt reflection, conversation, and self-awareness. They should not be the sole basis for decisions about board membership, employment, promotion, or any other consequential action.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Museum Crafters LLC, Board Insight Studio, and our affiliates, officers, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice via email to account holders. Your continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
